The Perunthalaivar Kamarajar College of Education, Karaikal was established in 2001 under the aegis of the Union Territory of Pondicherry Colleges of Education Society(Often abbreviated as UTPCES- a registered society under the Society’s Registration Act,1860) receiving the grant-in aid from the Government of Puducherry under the sector Education to establish and run the Colleges of Education in the Union Territory of Puducherry. Now the college is being run by the society namely Pondicherry Society for Higher Education (PONSHE) from 2007. The SRC-NCTE a statutory body of offering Teacher Education Programmes, has accorded permanent recognition to this college.

(11+1+3 or 10+2+3 or five year integrated masters degree under 10+2+5 or four year bachelor’s degree in engineering/technology under11+1+4 or 10+2+4 (with Mathematics and Science in both higher secondary and Engineering programmes)
Should have scored minimum50% marks in Part III (Main+ Allied) of Bachelor’s Degree( In case of OBC,EBC,MBC,SC,BT and Physically challenged candidates, one should have scored a minimum of 40% marks).
Campus placement will be held for B. Ed students every year. Around seven schools have registered for the campus recruitment. Students who are interested to attend the campus interviews are asked to register themselves with the placement officer.
